Help answer this question below.
Because there is no legitimate prophecy in the Bible that has come true. There is nothing convincing in it. Nothing.
Well...since it hasn't been 100% right, I can't really answer this question properly.
I might concede that it has been right a little bit, but even a monkey with pen will eventually write something that makes sense.
Which part is the prophesy? Do tell!
Genesis 1 - "for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" - yet Adam eats the fruit and lives another 930 years.
Genesis 4 - god punishes Cain for killing Abel - saying he'll be a "fugitive and vagabond". 4 verses later Cain settles down, marries (a sister??), has a son and builds a city.
Genesis 26 - Isaac's descendents will be as numerous as the stars of heaven.
Genesis 48 - Joseph will die in Israel. Genesis 50 - he dies in Egypt.
Exodus - god promises to cast out canaanites and jebusites - never quite managed it.
Joshua - says Ai was never again occupied. Later in Nehemiah Ai is listed as a city of Israel.
Jeremiah 34 - Zedekiah will die in peace and be buried with his father. Jeremiah 52 - he died a violent death in a foreign land.
Isiah - prophecy that Damascus will be completely destroyed and no longer inhabited. It's never been destroyed and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
Isiah - the river of Egypt will dry up (ie: Nile). The Nile has never dried up.
Isiah 19 - prophecying an alliance between Egypt, Israel and Assyria - but there never was one.
That's a start. There are more.
If the bible is a tool used by the powers that be for control.
These people control pretty much most world events.
They say something will happen, then go on to make it happen.
They get proven right and everyone worships them.
The only thing 100% accurate here is that you are A IRRATIONAL SUPERSTITIOUS THINKER.
A fairy tale book written by man,
Uses generalized fables, to guide you in your life's journey.
using the term 100% accurate makes you look like a total idiot.
Nothing is 100% accurate, It is impossible to attain.
If you believe this,
Then what is your say on nostradamus?
I think he by himself is a little closer than your precious bible.
This is really funny but not true...maybe.
For many years there have been sceptical peoples that claim many miracles that Jesus performed can be done by David Blane and Chris Angel, such as walking on water. Now, a session was held with the Pope and the Head Science Chief Of All That Is Sciency and decided to compromise.
Religion: Jesus came back from the dead.
Science: Similar scenario depicted in hit Japanese television show Dragonball Z.
Christianity: Jesus can fly.
Science: Criss Angel can fly.
Compromise: Criss Angel must be Jesus.
Truth: Criss Angel is Uber Jesus.
Christianity: Jesus walked on water. Alleluia, it's a miracle.
Science: Criss Angel walks on water, what's so great about Jesus?
Tidbit: Lizards walk on water, what's so great about Jesus?
Compromise: Criss Angel must be lizard Jesus.
Truth: Criss Angel (Raptor Jesus) is a lizard.
Christianity: Jesus fed a whole crowd on 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.
Science: McDonalds, enough said.
Compromise: Mr T is black Jesus.
Mr T: I ain't no Jesus! I pity the fool who calls me Jesus!
Truth: Jesus is Mr T's Bitch who abused the awesomeness of Mr T.
Morality: We should all be worshipping Mr T instead of that noob Jesus.
Religion: Jesus turned water into wine.
Science: Kool-Aid can turn water into punch.
Compromise: The Kool-Aid man ripped off Jesus.
Truth: Kool-Aid man is really Satan.
Morality: don't drink the Kool-Aid handed out in Jonestown, it's spiked with religious rhetoric from Jesus' fan club! Even Jesus cannot stand those lamers!
Religion: Jesus healed people.
Science: So do doctors...
Religion: Jesus was a baller.
Science: No, he never existed.
Compromise: From Tuesday to Thursday, Jesus wears a Rolex and drives a Lexus. From Friday to Monday, Jesus was never here, OK?
Eh? I don't recall a single bible prediction that was true - except that the writers of the New Testament twisted some facts to make Old Testament prophecies appear true,
The bible contains many unfulfilled, wrong, meaningless, trivial, and just vague
so-called "Prophecies."
"I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you."
-Luke 7:27
Then the biblical character named "Jesus" claims that this prophecy was fulfilled.........Really? Shit, horoscopes are more specific than that! I would've
been truly impressed if the bible would have prophesied the invention of the
locomota and the landing on the moon or things of that nature. And this Jesus
knew the prophecies he was supposed to fulfill! So how difficult is it to fulfill
prophecies that you know ahead of time? So when ZECHARIAH 9:9 tells him to
ride in on a donkey.........well, he knew exactly what to do. When we apply
historical evidence to bible's prophecies, they don't seem quite as prophetic.
Despite Josephus and Philo writing that Herod murdered some of their family
members, they both, interestingly, fell to write about the purported Herod's
slaughtering of baby boys--the kind of crime any historian would write about same as slavery and the holocaust. And self-fulfilling "prophecies," both direct and
indirect, are littered through the bible. Is this really the work of "Omniscience"?
It's not.
Simple as that, really.
Its not 100% accurate at all. Its a massive book with vague references to vague events. I could write widely applicable "prophecies" right now that could be applied to some future events. The Koran and the Torah also make similar predictions, why dont you believe in those books instead?
The one thing that theology and science have in common is that they are both constantly put to the test - Rush Limbaugh
One has yet to disprove the other, and since the science of metaphysics is a fringe science, there is no hope that science will ever provide evidence that the supernatural does not exist. Science cannot disprove the existence of God. I will take any arguments in the comments below.
I am a believer and to all the non-believers who has said that no prophecy has come true here is your exact examples....
For example, Daniel the prophet predicted in about 538 BC (Daniel 9:24-27) that Christ would come as Israel's promised Savior and Prince 483 years after the Persian emperor would give the Jews authority to rebuild Jerusalem, which was then in ruins. This was clearly and definitely fulfilled, hundreds of years later.
There are extensive prophecies dealing with individual nations and cities and with the course of history in general, all of which have been literally fulfilled. More than 300 prophecies were fulfilled by Christ Himself at His first coming. Other prophecies deal with the spread of Christianity, as well as various false religions, and many other subjects.
There is no other book, ancient or modern, like this. The vague, and usually erroneous, prophecies of people like Jeanne Dixon, Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce, and others like them are not in the same category at all, and neither are other religious books such as the Koran, the Confucian Analects, and similar religious writings. Only the Bible manifests this remarkable prophetic evidence, and it does so on such a tremendous scale as to render completely absurd any explanation other than divine revelation.
Unique Historical Accuracy
Learn more about Archaeology and the BibleThe historical accuracy of the Scriptures is likewise in a class by itself, far superior to the written records of Egypt, Assyria, and other early nations. Archeological confirmations of the Biblical record have been almost innumerable in the last century. Dr. Nelson Glueck, probably the greatest modern authority on Israeli archeology, has said:
"No archeological discovery has ever controverted a Biblical reference. Scores of archeological findings have been made which confirm in clear outline or in exact detail historical statements in the Bible. And, by the same token, proper evaluation of Biblical descriptions has often led to amazing discoveries."
Scientific Accuracy
Another striking evidence of divine inspiration is found in the fact that many of the principles of modern science were recorded as facts of nature in the Bible long before scientist confirmed them experimentally. A sampling of these would include:
■Roundness of the earth (Isaiah 40:22)
■Almost infinite extent of the sidereal universe (Isaiah 55:9)
■Law of conservation of mass and energy (II Peter 3:7)
■Hydrologic cycle (Ecclesiastes 1:7)
■Vast number of stars (Jeremiah 33:22)
■Law of increasing entropy (Psalm 102:25-27)
■Paramount importance of blood in life processes (Leviticus 17:11)
■Atmospheric circulation (Ecclesiastes 1:6)
■Gravitational field (Job 26:7)
■and many others.
These are not stated in the technical jargon of modern science, of course, but in terms of the basic world of man's everyday experience; nevertheless, they are completely in accord with the most modern scientific facts.
It is significant also that no real mistake has ever been demonstrated in the Bible—in science, in history, or in any other subject. Many have been claimed, of course, but conservative Bible scholars have always been able to work out reasonable solutions to all such problems.
Unique Structure
The remarkable structure of the Bible should also be stressed. Although it is a collection of 66 books, written by 40 or more different men over a period of 2,000 years, it is clearly one Book, with perfect unity and consistency throughout.
The individual writers, at the time of writing, had no idea that their message was eventually to be incorporated into such a Book, but each nevertheless fits perfectly into place and serves its own unique purpose as a component of the whole. Anyone who diligently studies the Bible will continually find remarkable structural and mathematical patterns woven throughout its fabric, with an intricacy and symmetry incapable of explanation by chance or collusion.
The one consistent theme of the Bible, developing in grandeur from Genesis to Revelation, is God's great work in the creation and redemption of all things, through His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible is unique also in terms of its effect on individual men and on the history of nations. It is the all-time best seller, appealing both to hearts and minds, beloved by at least some in every race or nation or tribe to which it has gone, rich or poor, scholar or simple, king or commoner, men of literally every background and walk of life. No other book has ever held such universal appeal nor produced such lasting effects.
One final evidence that the Bible is true is found in the testimony of those who have believed it. Multitudes of people, past and present, have found from personal experience that its promises are true, its counsel is sound, its commands and restrictions are wise, and its wonderful message of salvation meets every need for both time and eternity.
How many times in the past 15 years have a group of Christians announced that the rapture was imminent ? I have counted something like 7, but please correct me if you know of more.
Every time the announcement have been based on bible prophesies, and every time the announcement have been wrong.
That does not sound like a batting average of 100% to me. Sorry.
Let us say that I, every day of my life, tell people around me that I will die on that day. And I keep on doing that until I die. Do the fact that I am finally right mean that I have correctly predicted the future ?
rgeards JakobA
sad very sad
you know god loves you
no matter what you think ?
Just because something is percieved by a lot of people as being true does not make that thing true. Also it would seem that you are ignorant to the world around you. No offence but I see your type all the time. "Oh im totally right and no one else's opinion matters at all because what I think is whats right". Well The bottom line has a few matters in it. First religion was first created to explain the unexplainable, however now that we can explain most things religion has become almost completely obsolete. Secondly if there is or if there is not a "god" Would that thing actually let us live the way we do? I certainly do not think so. If there was a god it is obviously long gone. Frankly my answer is why does everyone bicker about something so useless and trivial? You've got one life to live and YOU are spending your time arguing about nonsense. Do your research then ask questions or you just sound ignorant. Don't get me wrong, believe whatever you want those are YOUR beliefs, but these are mine.
The bible is only good for one thing & that is wiping your arse.

You're reading a question to non bible believers , if the bible is just one big fairy story to you then why is the bible prophecy`s 100% accurate to date
Comments
I really like this answer. I really don't see what so many people are so gung-ho about religion. Its really not that big of a deal.

It's not that legitimate when you realize that the story of Jesus could have been written to fit the prophecy, or that the prophecy could have been worked to fit with Jesus.
by Talimze on January 12th, 2011
I don't deny that Jesus existed, I just doubt that the stories told about him in the Bible are true.
by Talimze on January 12th, 2011
Yes, it does. There were a lot of people claiming to be the man the prophecy predicted who were contemporaries of Jesus. Most likely it was just a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's not legitimate. In order to have a legitimate prophecy, it would need to clearly predict something that no one has any knowledge of at the time, and that cannot be self-fulfilled. Something like that would be impressive, but there is no such thing in the Bible.
by Talimze on January 12th, 2011
Once again, there's no reason it couldn't have been written to fulfill the prophecy.
by Talimze on January 12th, 2011
Just because the Bible says the events took place does not mean they did. They could have easily been invented to fulfill the prophecy. That sort of thing happens all the time.
by Talimze on January 12th, 2011
Again, I don't deny that Jesus was an actual person. I doubt the veracity of the Gospels. There are some vague non-Biblical references to Jesus, but the Gospels go far beyond that.
by Talimze on January 12th, 2011
Notice none of those people would have been able to get any of that information first hand.
