  • I have 2 possibilities: Delaware From Delaware River and Bay; named in turn for Sir Thomas West, Baron De La Warr Pennsylvania In honor of Adm. Sir William Penn, father of William Penn. It means “Penn's Woodland Wait, I just found out that Baron De La Ware headed a contingent that landed in Jamestown. So now I think it's Delaware.
