    Asker's Pick

Selected by the asker, RosieGHM Jetpacker. (What's this?)

Yes I think that is an excellent comparison and I do not think anyone should do it. You are cheating others out of that designation. If you know the answer to your question, why ask it? Kind of defeats the purpose of AB I think. Happy Monday Rosie :)

Do it only if you sincerely feel that no other answer even comes close to your own. If it is an "insider's answer" question and only you know the answer, then that is obviously unethical. I frankly have so enjoyed just communicating with my fellow souls, that I honestly forgot about Asker's Pick and the points system.

I don't bother with questions that the asker answers themselves. They already know the answer they want and I suspect it is just a way for them to raise their points. Ask lots of questions and just answer them yourself.

I seldom ever answer my own questions so I'm not sure. I don't really hang around here to amass points anyway. I just like to see how others think and react. I will almost always say I like a question just to be polite but I sometimes forget. Forgive me if I forget on one of yours.

Unless you were referring to the old Chicago electoral process under Richard J. Daley, when the motto was vote early and vote often, I don't see much of a comparison to answering your own question and rewarding yourself in this manner.

I would only think that if the answers provided could be enhanced by newer information that you didn't previously have, should you add an answer to your own question. And even then, it would be unethical to award yourself "Asker's Pick" or a Like.

I say NO, if one knows the answer, why are they asking the question?
