    Yes!!! Come!
There are a few rednecks(we call them bogans) that get around and have spoilt our reputation, but they will pick on anyone, not specifically indians just anyone who seems like they have any intelligence or success.Never fear though cos they are really the minority;the majority of us actually love ppl from different cultures!
We will probably ask alot of questions, and want to sample your curry but it is very unlikely you will be bashed (unless you call at dinner and try to sell us a credit card or a phone plan :p ).
Just stay away from ppl that hang out in shopping malls with ugg boots on and you will be fine :) :)
Seriously! and even better come to tasmania...we love curry :) :)

If you can speak English and drink beer you'll be fine. Just don't brag and tell them that your job is taking calls for the Microsoft Help Line. I understand that gets them horny. : )

    I think I like you.
You see deficiencies in certain aspects of your own culture, and want to explore outside of that, at the same time not lower your standards too much, nor do anything too risky.
The "risky" thing is because, in part, racism occurs. Sometimes it's horrible. There's violence. However, this is usually gang related, and not the expression of the population at large.
Lot of folk from the middle east living in Aussie. Some of the gangs some of them form are incredibly racist.
The average Aussie is no more racist than anywhere else. It's one of the safer countries around, I reckon.
    Same with us Kiwis.
    You go for it.

I don't see why not. I have a very good friend named Hayley Running Flower, she's a full blooded Northern Cheyenne and years ago she went to Australia and had no problems from the people there. If you go there on a war path then you might have problems, but if you go in peace, you'll be fine. What tribe or Nation are you from?

Perfectly safe,, provided you don't try to sell us cell phones at dinnertime. Of course, if you're a cricketer you're likely to be beaten - but not in the way that you mean (lol).

I think you'll be fine as long as you don't go to Adelaide.

I have never been there but I don't know why you have heard such stories. Australians are very nice people as a whole. You find good and bad just as you do anywhere. I have never heard of them seeking out any particular nationality or being abusive.

Please don't be put off by the hysterical media stories. They don't mention that the victims worked late at night in districts that are renowned for crime, or that just as many whites were attacked in these areas. In two instances, the attacks were carried out by other Indians or Pakistanis, but they don't mention this either. Come over, you will be surprised at how well you will be received.
