Does anyone else hate the New Star Trek movie besides me?

    I didn't watch it but on the comercials it looks like the wrong type of movie for me to go see( I'm saying it looks stupid).

    Yes, I do hate it. No matter how much they try to scream 'Alternate Universe' its still a POS to cover weak, awful, lazy writing.

    I thought it was as dumb as THE LOVE BUG or THE COMPUTER WORE TENNIS SHOES. It reminded me of the original LOST IN SPACE, Third season. Pine played Kirk like a cross between Bill Murry in GHOST BUSTERS and Tom Cruise from TOP GUN. Spock is now the most emotional guy in the universe, and has a quick temper that he loses every time Bill Murry.. I mean Kirk, make a wise crack. SPOCK, who had sex every five years on the original show, now has over active hormones to go alone with his emotional problems and quick temper, and is banging his regular squeeze Uhura. It also had a touch of SPACE BALLS and BILL AND TEDS BIG ADVENTURE thrown in for humor.

    I thought it was fantastic.
    To me it rivaled Wrath of Khan. Much better than the crappy TNG movies that's for sure.

    When I saw the trailers, I thought it looked super boring, but I actually really liked it..good story line, good graphics..I was impressed, bought the dvd.

    I'm not a hater of the new movie. I thought it was fun. Actors, writers and directors have to eventually change in long running franchises, (e.g. James Bond) and there's nothing to be done about it. It was better than some of the older Star Trek movies, especially the first one.
