Is middle -age too late to start a four-six year study for a degree for a new career?
How grueliing is it to take a full 16-18 credits/per?

    I not sure what you consider to be middle-age but I can tell you that my son started a Master's Program at age 30 and completed his Ph.D work in 2004. He worked very very hard and it wasn't easy but he is now a college professor and loves what he does. You are going to age anyway and if you spend time learning about something you love the time will fly by and at the end of it you will have provided yourself with the tools for a new career. Good luck if you choose to embark on that adventure! :)
