Stupid, very stupid of you to be stupid but not stupid enough to like being called stupid.

You're not as stupid as you think you are, because you're smart enough to realize you're stupid. Few things are more annoying than idiots who don't realize they're stupid.

I don't believe your initial premise. It's doubtful that you are stupid. You very well could be ignorant in many things but so am I and so is every one else I know. I would much rather be called ignorant than stupid any old day. In fact, I "fess up" to my ignorance often. I'm ignorant about world history, organic chemistry, most music, languages (other than English), women, etc. I don't understand any of those things and the list could go on and on and on.

Maybe you often don't use good judgment or don't think things through. I still doubt that you are truly stupid. I'm not sure that there is a clinical definition for that term like there is for "idiot."

I remember well when I was in the 11th grade (even though I'm 70 now) a classmate called me an idiot. I'm not sure why I reacted the way I did but it is the only time I had ever hit someone in school in malice. That might have been stupid because he was so much bigger than me - but it turned out O.K. I didn't get in any trouble over it even though it decked him. I guess he hit a nerve.

Along with the fact that none of us generally like our faults revealed in an insulting manner or to be told something we already believe about ourselves that is negative. Maybe, in addition, just maybe now, being called stupid sets off an inner reaction from you because some part of you that thinking negative thoughts about yourself won't allow you to recognize suspects that you aren't stupid after all. I think you need to rethink the criteria you focus on when labelling yourself stupid--everyone is "stupid" about some things and "smart" about others. Don't call yourself stupid either; instead perhaps try gfinding what you do know and how that can be shared with others.

    Absolutely not.

In order for someone to call you stupid and get away with it, you'd have to do something really stupid, like, defending the find job Dubya Bush did to us, hummmm, for us! lol

Or, claim the world is only 7,600 years old or some such nonsense.

The person probably disagreed with you on something. This is usually enough for a stupid person to call...you...stupid.

    Ain't this fun?

No, I don't think so. Nobody likes having negative comments made about them, regardless of the truth behind them. With that said, if you truly feel you are stupid, why not try to make yourself smarter? I get the impression (though mayhaps this is me projecting) that you aren't happy in your current situation.
