    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

A child must be 10 years of age in order to become certified in scuba diving, according to PADI, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. Children aged 10 to 14 can be certified as a PADI Junior Open Water Diver. At age 15, these junior divers can upgrade to the PADI Open Water Diver certification.
