Help answer this question below.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that all garment care labels list any type of assumed care that would damage the garment. Dry cleaning websites state that any garment, unless its label expressly states the opposite, should generally be fine if dry cleaned, including wrinkle free shirts. Wrinkle free shirts are specially treated using formaldehyde so they can go directly from wash to wear. These shirts do not require dry cleaning because they are made to be washed in a normal washing machine. As a result, wet washing is normally preferred for cleaning wrinkle free shirts. Unless the wrinkle free shirt you own specifically states it cannot be dry cleaned, dry cleaning will likely not ruin it. Wrinkle free shirts, however, are designed to be washed in a washing machine. Wet cleaning, therefore, is viewed as the best way to care for these garments. On One Hand: Fabrics Can Be Dry Cleaned Unless Expressly Stated
