Shakiness, nausea and headaches are unsettling symptoms caused by several different conditions, some of which are easy to remedy, while others need to be treated by a physician. Hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, will often cause shakiness, nausea and headaches. According to the National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse, if you suspect low blood sugar is causing your symptoms, eat something sugary such as glucose tablets, candy, juice or honey. Severe cases may require medical treatment. Dumping syndrome occurs when the contents of your stomach move at an accelerated rate to your intestines. Mayo Clinic says most cases are associated with stomach surgery and resolve with dietary changes. Many drugs list shakiness, nausea and headaches as possible side effects. If you experience this with an over-the-counter medication, stop taking it. If a prescription medication causes these side effects, call your doctor. Excessive alcohol or drug consumption can cause shakiness, nausea and headache, as can detoxification after a sustained period of substance abuse. According to the National Institutes of Health MedlinePlus website, withdrawal symptoms may require hospitalization. According to WebMD, mild to moderate cases of dehydration can cause shakiness, nausea and headaches. Treatment includes specially formulated electrolyte solutions, found at pharmacies, but severe cases require a doctor. The Mayo Clinic: Dumping SyndromeHypoglycemia
