    An archaic version of Lasik eye surgery was first used in Russia in the 1970s by Dr. Svyatoslav Fyodorov. American doctors took note and conducted research on how to perfect the technique. A few years later opthalmologist Dr. Leo Bores brought LASIK eye surgery to the U.S.
