Phillips Graduate Institute is a remarkable program. Based in Encino, CA, it operates as a nonprofit training and research center. The school also offers a high female to male ratio, which differs from many other programs across the nation. Amongst the student population, many are mature students who are 40 years or older. On top of it all, Phillips has an incredibly high faculty to student ratio which promises a great academic experience. Although the Phillips Graduate Institute possessed many attractive attributes, they faced the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges on February 18-20, 2009. The commission put the school on accreditation probation for non-compliance. Another big draw back for the school would be the cost. The cost for one credit is $820-$858 per credit (around 13 credits a semester) and up to $3000 per semester for internship fees. Although the Phillips Graduate Institute offers a nice environment in regards to student body maturity and a great faculty to student ratio, many drawbacks should come into your decision making process. The cost might keep a lot of students from attending the institution. Also, accreditation is very important for any degree and with the probation looming, you have to question the legitimacy of the school. On One Hand: Phillips Highlights
