Forgive him and move on, we all make mistakes and you would hope he would forgive you if you made a mistake.
I would just say thank you and move on.
Me personally; I wouldn't accept an apology via email. An apology means much more when your in the person's face. I think that he's probably really embarrassed and can't take saying to your face. I would suggest coming to him face to face and talking it over. Phone calls, text, and email should not be an option. Whether you forgive him or not is up to you. Good luck.
