I have fluid or something in my INNER ear that causes me extreme Vertigo. Not middle ear, INNER. Does anyone relate and have any remedies?

I've been suffering for 2-3 weeks. I can not drive or walk for long periods of time. Constant never ending spinning. I've been through 2 rounds of antibiotics with no success.

There is an procedure you can have that is normally done to children, which involves perforating the ear drum and placing a grommet there, so the fluid gradually drains out.

You've had this for a long time now, and need to get it sorted, because if labyrinthitis goes on too long it can sometimes have an effect on your hearing.

I read about this in Discover Magazine a few years back. It happens a lot to old people. A thing in the inner ear gets loose, causing the vertigo. There's supposed to be a simple cure where a person lies down on a bed with their head off the side and they move it around until the piece falls back in place.
I wish I could remember more. There was also an episode of "House" where they did the same thing.

Sounds like an inner ear infection to be honest. I'm not a doctor, but as I understand it, labyrinthitis is typically caused by a virus and not bacteria. It also should resolve itself naturally over time, with the patient perhaps taking some anti-inflammatory medication or something for any pain or dizziness. With that said, since this obviously isn't resolving, all I can suggest is a return trip to the doctor and to explain that the antibiotics aren't helping.
