Get a faux-hawk instead, slightly more modern... Unless you're in a band, then a full on mohawk is alright. lol. Regardless though, I say go for it, the world needs more unique characters.

A traditional mohawk (no more than six inches and no dye) looks fun, youthful, and sporty. Especially for younger people, it's a good choice. (My 17-year-old daughter loves hers, and has had it for about eight years.)
