how do you get girls to like you

I agree with the other answers. In addition to character, I'm going to touch on the "superficial." Be clean. Clean teeth (floss!), nails, body. Smell nice (one spray of cologne is plenty because subtle is always more attractive than overdoing it). Keep your ears, nose & shoes clean. These are things that women notice. I cannot tell you how many boys/men have pursued me in my day and were careless about some of those little things -- it was such a huge turn off. I would think to myself, "If you don't take the time to get the crust out of the corners of your eyes and floss, what else are you taking shortcuts on?" Just some other things outside of character to pay attention to.

Confidence is the key. It may have said before, but that's what I find attractive at least. Also seeing that I have something in common with someone, like lifestyles, is another attractive thing in my book.

That depends on what kind of girl you want to like you. If you want a good girl to like you, the kind who is going to grow up to be a woman of character and a loving and responsible wife, become a young man of stellar character.
