Chlorine is best to stay away from body piercings for a minimum of two weeks.
If you want your coach to give of his or her time to coach you and bring you along, my suggestion would be that you show respect for his or her wishes. When you go to meets, you will be representing your coach and your team. Quite apart from whether or not chlorine will affect the piercing is the fact that the piercing will affect your representation of the team and your disrespect will probably affect your coaches opinion of you. But yes, metal and chlorine are highly reactive and I would guess that it would effect the hole you put in your body.
