How can I "set" colors when washing clothes to prevent colors running?

    Do the same trick when you are dyeing your clothes. Wash your colored clothes in cold water cycle. This will immediately help set the colors. When it is already in the rinse cycle, add a cup of vinegar. New colored clothes tend to run when you first wash them so you might want to do this trick not in your washing machine but in a basin.

    When you buy clothing, the first time you launder add vinegar to the final rinse. This will help set colors and prevent them from fading quickly.
