Why is it that homosexuals call themselves gay? Why couldn't they have chosen a word that is not in heaps of old songs and nursery rhymes?

Well "Macavity the mystery cat" Homosexuality is not a DANGER to society... But you know what IS a danger to society ..Religion... Religion is the reason why there's so many wars.. why slavery existed and why we people still feel that they can deprive people of their rights, why women are treated like SHIT in SOO many countries and why ... and a little history lesson Slavery was started when the "RELIGIOUS PEOPLE" felt that "Black People" Were a different type of species therefore not "Really" human so they could treat them any way they wanted to.... and YOU'RE RIGHT "GOD" is the judge so stop blaming homosexuals for problems... because christianity is the reason why you cant see homosexuals as PEOPLE. Stop using a religious sorce to cover up your prejudice... So to end this arguement... Homosexuals did not call themselves "GAY" people who decided to pick on them called them gay. so maybe you should research your crap before you start bad mouthing a group of people... and you ARE very ignorant for believing that "ALL" homosexuals want attention... i guess "ALL" black people are ghetto and misinformed and "All" white people are rich and stuck up and "ALL" women know how to do is cook, clean, and watch their 50 kids... YAY for damn stereotypes... we know they dont fool you.

  And I suppose ALL religious people condoned the wrongs that have been done in the world? Some religious people are homosexual, so you can't blame religious people for all the worlds problems. Like, wars, the hatred of black people, slavery, ect. I do not condone any of those things.
  Of cause homosexals are PEOPLE, I did dot say they were not, and nor do I believe that.
  Homosexuality is a sin against The Lord God. Having said that, He will judge them, that is not for me to do. Just as God will judge me, because I am a sinner too. No one is free from sin
  (except Jesus) and we will all be judged, when Jesus returns to the earth.

Rc loves ice creme, in todays world the worh gay means to be happy, that is why it is in songs and nursery rhymes. But I think you alrady know that!

I don't know why they did it. They should have stuck to calling them selves what they are, homosexuals. Gay is a word that means "Happy". My grandchild go's to preschool and sings a nursery rhyme that has been sang for years and years, I was singing it with her and she sings new words insead of "Gay your song must be" the kids now have to sing "Happy your song must be". They are not aloud to say Gay?
Is the world going mad? Why should we change words to songs and rhymes so as not to offend a bunch of sinners?

Why did they put that word into nursery rhymes and old songs?

The word has historically had many meanings, including some with sexual connotations. It had homosexual connotations at least since 1893.

- They don't have to. They can if they feel bothered by the slang definition of gay. Otherwise they dont need to. Besides, kids won't find out the slang definition til they're older anyway. The children's story industry or whatever should just deal with it

  Yes, you are right, there are alot of sins in the world. That is why the world is loosing it's way.
  
  Thieves, murders, liars, paedophiles, ect, are all sinners too, but the difference is, that they are called what they are.
  
  Homosexuals on the other hand, instead of calling themselves what they are, they had to go and take a good family word like "gay" and turn it into a sinful word.
  
  Heaps of songs and nursery rhymes have the word "gay" in them, and now our children have to sing different words, to age old nursery rhymes, in order to replace the word "gay".
  
  NOT FAIR, if they had to have their own pet name, they should have invented a new word to call themselves.
  Why do they feel the need to have a pet name anyway?

  I don't think they want to be left alone. I think they love any attention they can get, otherwise why would they parade them selves in the streets, in "gay mardi gras", and put on that funny walk and talk they do, on TV ect, to make sure everyone knows they have chosen to be homosexual.
  
  If they want to be treated like everyone else in society, then they should act like everyone else. Just get on with life, without advertising their sex lives.
  
  I have never seen heterosexual couples, parading them selves down the streets, dressed ridiculously/or barely dressed at all, riding on floats ect, just so people will notice them.

  When God flooded the earth (Noah's Ark), to destroy all the wicked sinners in the world. When all the water had subided, God put the RAINBOW in the sky, as a sign of His promise, that He would never flood the earth again.

  It is not a FACT that homosexuality is a danger to society... it is an OPINION... You're right we're not gonna agree on anything because the worse thing i hate is people like you who take the BIBLE or any type of religious script and uses it to cover up their prejudice... Homosexuality is here to stay whether you like it or not ...so you can either die accepting it or die holding on to that prejudice... either way its still gonna be around when you're dead and gone.

So homosexuals... who are still PEOPLE aren't equal to everyone else?? no one is born straight or homosexual...

Love is never a choice
you can choose to stay away from one you love but you cant control that feeling...

you don't CHOOSE to fall in love with certain people... it just happens... if we could actually control our feelings so many women wouldnt be in abusive relationships... you can't control who you dont like as well...and if your implying that homosexality is action then your wrong because you dont have to sleep with the opposite sex to know that you're straight and you dont have to sleep with the same sex to know your a homosexual its all about attraction.... if you are sexually attracted to someone you just are and most of the time you cant help that... so plz tell me how any matter of the heart is a choice....

They want equal rights.. they want to be able to marry the person they love... and you honestly will never understand that because you WONT take the time out to set aside your christian pride and empathize...
