No. I have felt the opposite though at times. Some people don't know whimsy when it bites them on the rear and make a big deal out of something that was said in a light-hearted, whimsical fashion. People in general take me very seriously, sometimes to an unbelievable degree. They read things into what I say that are not there...they "remember" things I have never said. It is strange I think..this phenomenon of perception. What you believe you perceive makes it true for you, whether or not it ever happened. Amazing! :) Happy Wednedsay to you! :)

Yes sometimes...especially when the person I'm speaking to is smug and as thick as two planks....but then again sometimes it's a good thing not to be taken seriously. Else I probably would have been hanged by now. I hate to be taken seriously when I'm making an off-hand joke. Life's too short to be serious all the time.

I found when I was young (teens, early 20's) people did not take me seriously. As I grew older, my confidence grew along with the years. Then people started to listen. I think it is a direct result of the way we perceive ourselves which determines how others perceive us. Great question.

All my life; im not taken seriously until I complete a serious action and then peoples usual response is I didnt see that coming; its irritating how little people listen.
