- awesome! I've followed all this with my bf. I don't know if my admitting that I have depression counts as baggage but I never burden him with it, so whatever...although he is supportive when I'm a little sad and I happen to show it. And I was only hard to get for a while but then we went steady so now I'm more relaxed. My only hard to get thing was not to appear too eager

Well believe it or not this will come to a shock for you women, but it's not all about sex thats just the iceing on the cake. Everything that you women want on your long list is what men want. Things like someone to talk to when the chips are down someone to share are day with. A good timing gal who wants to go out on the weekends and be spontaneous and go places they never been to. Someone you can listen to the same music while going on a road trip somewhere and sing along with the music. Some women say a guy who can finish there sentence but for me as a man I don't think it's a true judge of character. Men want someone to grow old with and will see us thru the bad times and not quite at the drop of a hat. Someone who is loyal and faithful we don't have to worry about them with there guy friends fucking them in our bed when we're gone to work. Someone who loves are childeren as much as we do and doesn't spank and beat them half to death when they loose there temper. Also someone who has a kind tone to there voice and not a sarcastic bitch all the time. Supports us when we make a good descision for the family and corrects the kids when there bad.

1) Respect and cooperation.

2) Let a woman be a feminine woman and a man be a masculine man. A woman who is feminine and comfortable in her femininity makes for a stronger man. (She won't be competing with his masculinity as if she is a man herself. Big turn off.)

3) Women PLEEEEEASE learn when to stop talking. You aggravate and turn men off by talking to excess. Please learn when you are about to say too much and then don't.

  The question asked specifically about what men want from women. As long as women play a tit-for-tat game of if I do "A" then you also have to do "A" then conflict will always arise.
  
  Like two muscles-- one pushes and the other must pull for the muscles to move the (same) part of the body that they are attached to. In our society today, women seem to want to pull when men pull or push when men push. This is a recipe for perpetual conflict. If each part gender does what it should according to its role, then the human race, the family unit, society can advance. Women, pull when men push and push when men pull-- like the muscle we can coordinate our abilities and move forward.

- truth is, if someone else had said this, probably would not hve thought twice about it. But with you, I know your beliefs and feelings toward women, so that gave me more of an insight into what you actually meant. I also dont think it is "playing tit for tat" to view women as people with thoughts, feelings, needs, etc. If she needs to talk to her husband,and his view is that she should just shut up and do what she is told....then he isnt really being a husband is he?

- Lady S, my philosophy comes from the push and pull of being married. I have found through experience that "tit for tat" only leads to the kind of frustrating stalemates that resolve nothing in marriage. Each party should do his and her part. The husband is the head (that is Biblical) but that does not warrant him being dictatorial. He can be the head and legitimately require of his wife submission, but he should not do it as a display of the power of his position. You do catch more bees with honey than vinegar. This works in marriage as well. Marriage should not be a power-struggle. Both parties have their roles and should function accordingly and cooperatively.

- The Bible also says he must submit to her, that is the part that always gets left out. SHE is the master of his body as well. The Bible also gives a very detailed description og HOW he must love his wife. To suggest that a husband should prevent his wife from speaking or sharing her feelings is in direct contradiction. No where does it say "wives do not express your feelings because its not what your husbands want to hear." he cannot force her to submit to anything that is harmful or hurtful to her. He cannot force her to submit to acts of selfishness or self gratification.

- I don't characterize my comments or intentions as "wives do not express your feelings because its not what your husbands want to hear." I do say that a wife should be respectful of when her husband has heard enough. (And yes, the door swings the other way as well.) Prudence would dictate that one not force their message upon a closed hearer. As men/husbands are characterized as being less communicative than their wives, the wife should be more attentive to stemming her comments when they begin to overbear him.
  
  There is a mutuality to submission, but the husband is still the head. Likewise, as politicians are "public servants" and accountable to their constituents, they are in positions of authority over those constituents and their decisions do become law. The husband is Biblically positioned over his own wife. The politician is positioned over his own constituent. Positionally both are the final authority and the most accountable for what happens under their watch.
  
  Being in that position of authority entails a greater judgment for what happens under their lead. It's not all authority and no accountability. Husbands will answer to God for how they led their wives and families. Wives will answer for how they submitted to their husbands' leads.
  
  And yes, affection and kindness should make someone more willing but it is not foolproof. There are foolish spouses who will misuse the goodwill kindnesses of even a well-intentioned spouse.

- Phileo, I could be wrong but it sounds like what you want is a quiet well behaving robot not a partner. A marriage can't ever be successful unless there's equality and both opinions are respected. Men should never have to feel like they have no say, but neither should women. It's very very dangerous to teach girls and young women that they have to "obey" their husbands because this can sometimes lead to abusive relationships for the wife and children. If you have to obey than what do you do if there's physical, mental/emotional or sexual abuse? What do you do if your husband is a danger to you or your kids? Or if your husband is an unfaithful man? Christianity should never be used for ego trip/male superiority purposes. Christianity is about instilling values and teaching about God's plan for humanity.

  Yes, you are mistaken that I want a robot. Equality in marriage is a myth because in no other institution among people is everyone on the same hierarchical level-- not in government, not in schools, not in employment. Marriage is no different.

The husband is not better than the wife, but the brunt of the responsibility does lie upon his shoulders by the authority delegated to him. - She asked a lot of legitimate questions. Why didnt you address them? The Bible specifically prohibits a husband from physical, mental and sexual abuse, yet, women are expected to submit to them. The Bible specifically requires emotional attachment, love and concern for the well being of his wife and family, but they dont give it. Why arent we tackling this problem? The Bible specifically requires fidelity of both parties, but 98% of married men are on porn (which IS adultery Matthew 5-27)
  My point is, Phileo, that you expect women to honor the tradtions of Biblical marriage, but you dont expect the same of men. There havent been true biblical marriages since the 1st century AD. It just took women 1900 years to catch up with men. Do we really have to ask why women wont submit to their husbands? The answer is obvious...because they dont have husbands who are worthy of submitting to.
  If you really want to see improvement in marriage, you have to address the causes of the destruction. Porn, sexual sadism, emotional detachment and misogyny. If you want men to lead, by all means, give us better men to follow.

  I make no provision for the abuse of either spouse (and wives are as abusive of husbands as husbands of wives, let us be clear). I also am not addressing the husband because it is not in the context of the question itself. Thirdly, the responsibility that God charges to the husband far eclipses the submission that He requires of the wife. If wives had any clue how serious the charge is upon husbands, they would be more cooperative.
  
  The husband is to be like Christ to the church. Christ is the perfect, sinless God-man. Not one of us husbands comes close, but that is the standard by which we are graded. Wives being submitted to husbands as the church is to be submitted to Christ is less severe of a demand. That's the Bible-- referring to the verses in Ephesians 5 that you cited.
  
  Wives submit. Could they perhaps encourage Christ-likeness in their husbands by submitting to them? Consider 1 Peter 3:1-2. If wives submitted to their husbands, even the unbelieving husbands would be won to Christ. How much more should believing wives submit to believing husbands!

- so basically, wives are "damned if they do and damned if they dont." You say that women should not talk when their husband doesnt want to hear it. In Romans, wives are called to bring their husbands to the word of God through CONVERSATION. How can they do that when they arent supposed to talk?
  Sodomy is another timeless example. The Bible says that those who commit sodomy should be put to death. Its a well known fact that sodomy is the preferred method of most men, despite the fact that it is painful and harmful to the body of the wife. So, if she submits to the sexual torture of her husband, then God himself calls for her to be executed; but if she doesn't submit to the sexual torture of her husband, then God damns her soul. If this is the "truth" then its safe to say, I probably love my cat more than God loves his female children. ( i dont believe this is the truth though)
  You say the command to submit is the less severe of the two; I stronlgy disagree. It would really depend on WHAT she is required to submit to. In modern times, wives are being forced to submit to porn, sexual sadism and torture, rape, violence, degradation and humiliation, emototional detachment and neglect. If she submits as required, the family will perish due to the husbands slavish devotion to his own gratification and selfishness. Women dont WANT to take over the role of men, they HAVE to becasue the men wont accept their own responsibilty.

- There's nothing wrong with porn. I watch it and so does my boyfriend. I do however believe that there can be equality in a relationship or marriage in terms of both partners acknowledging the other as morally relevant and intellectually capable beings (and neither partner more morally relevant or intellectually capable than the other). Different roles don't mean inequality. I naturally fall into being his nurturer and he falls into being my protector and I don't mind that at all. Sometimes I follow him, merely because I know he will lead me well and take my opinions and feelings seriously. Sometimes I follow my significant other for the very reason that he let's me speak my mind. I'm no nag and I'm afraid of ever becoming one, but if he ever told me that he expects me to know when to shut up, I wouldn't follow him anymore whatsoever and I would be constantly defensive and offensive. That's push and pull, for ya!

- Nope. Honestly, I've been intimate with dozens of women in my life - MANY. I'd venture to say that only about 5% were what you call "Tongue hanging out beautiful".. the rest were from good looking to, uh.. ones us guys dont talk about but will screw anyway. Just being honest. A guy will at first judge whether or not he's gonna get you fast.. if not.. are you the type of girl he will want to hang with until you DO put out. Again.. being honest.
  
  If he finds you VERY attractive because of your personality.. which WILL take some time for him to realize that you have.. then you may have a decent relationship. But be under NO illusion, the minute a guy knows he can get to the "honey spot".. you're screwed (physically and every other way).. he will use you however he can.. because he figures thats all you're in it for too. Because.. many girls ARE out for just one thing too. If you make yourself out to be easy.. he WILL take you.. and take you 3 ways from Sunday (even upside down if you let him). - Lord, I HOPE so. Hair color doesn't matter all that much. (I like it to 'match'!!!) I like a gal who doesn't fracture the English language; one who expects more than average sex. For me a pleasant disposition is a must! That means she must have a positive attitude for life in general, keep herself clean inside and out, be respectful towards herself and others. A pretty face is not important, but she's got to have a pretty, well proportioned butt.

Let's face it, there are many things to list, but in reality, if there isn't any sex on the list or if the sex isn't good he will not be more than friends with you.

You can be smart, funny, show respect, dress cool and be fun, but sex is the core issue that divides the friends from the lovers.

It depends.... Young guys want sex.... the most incredible and senual sensation on earth is to shoot our sperm into a girl's vagina. That's what most guys are after. ./.. notall.... but when we are young and our hormones are going wild... thats it..... and most guys don't even understand themselves that this is what they're after.
Ina wife l want a soul mate... a companion... a friend and a lover among other qualities...

The only difference is that women are less vocal/expressive about it because we don't want to be judged or labeled. There are so many labels and stereotypes placed on girls. But sometimes when girls are in a small close knit group of female friends they will feel more free to talk about these things. If you were a fly on the wall you'd understand what I mean.
  
  And when a woman is in her 40s her hormones sort of take over and she becomes a very sexual person. Women's sexual peak is in their 40s, while men start to lose energy and virility at this age. So it's kind of a role reversal. This is the reason that a lot of young men like to date older women. They are at the same sexual level.

Men mostly are unshaped clay and irregular sort.They are not perfect when it comes to socialism,parenting.... etc.They need a woman who should be ONE SOUL with the man and just another name, who can give them all the fulfillness which men can't do for themselves for retaining themselves as a man.

Well, as far as I am concerned I only want love and support.

I mean that she should love me for who I am and if she doesn't like me, just tell me clearly( not to go on for long , when you know that this is not the right person for you). Secondly, support me emotionally I go through rough times.

Most women no matter how we advance in society are under the impression all we want in them is sex only. True we want them for sex BUT only part of the time. The bottom line is everything women want in a man is what a man wants in a women.
