This is just a SWAG Hal...because the $2.5 billion is larded with their pork and they don't wanna give it up...no way no how. They are in the business of extortion, prostitution and accepting bribes/payoffs. Happy Monday! :)

You have to learn to read Repuglican language:

Lower taxes = for the rich only

Decreased expenses = on services offered to the poor only (if in doubt, please refer to one 2008/09 bailout)

Apparently for the same reasons they don't support cutting $40-billion-plus of Pork/Earmarks.

I would have to know the details of the budget items being cut, but I would say if $2.5 billion was spent on defense I would not support cutting that...I mean a guy from a nation that has literally declared war on USA tried to blow up a plane in the USA just last christmas...we need defense. Plus $14 TRillion was Obie's total bill so 2.5 billion is less than a drop in the bucket. Conservatives do support lower taxes and in turn less Big Government but as with everything it depends on the issue. Liberals do a greaat job of keeping more of a "textbook agenda" regardless of the situation.
