I am sure that the people around you would be happy to help you. It will be much easier if you ask for help. When you try something like that on your own you don't have the moral support that makes it easier. Quitting anything like that is not easy no matter how you do it. One thing that will help is to change your habits, don't go to bars or hang out with the friends that continue to drink. I wish you luck and will be happy to be here to give you moral support.

Been there where you are. I just got to a point in my life where I realized it was doing me more harm than good and I stopped. There were times when I thought, what the hell am I doing this for, but in the long run it was better for ME. As time goes by it does get easier. I also had no urge to involve anyone in my madness. Good luck to you and you have already helped yourself by posting the question.

Stop drinking by yourself. It is a complete myth, perpetuated by the recovery industry, that alcoholics can't do that. Of course they can. You do not have a disease. You have bad morals. Change them.

    LePoupon is a proper gander.

Dunno man, but if you want to go for a drink give me a shout.

On a serious note though, speak to a doctor, soloing this stuff ain't going to help and going to AA needs you to submit to a higher power.
