Definitely. The UK has had the longest recession of all the countries in the developed world - though not the deepest. We were first in and last (and weakest) out. Other countries (e.g. Germany) had shorter, sharper, recessions.
We are technicly not in a recession anymore... Our economy grew in the last quarter of 2009. (Although probably due to Christmas more than anything else)
We still have around 2.5Million unemployed...
Times are tough wherever you are I think...
Things look like that UK is also suffering from economic recession like USA due to the Iraq war. Unemployment is rising day by day and trade balance with Europe is horribly going unfavorable especially with France as evident from francewholesalers.com that imports to France are almost negligible.
