It is so enervating...after awhile one has nothing left with which to fight. I found out that mediocrity is "A-OK" with a great many of "we the people"! During the last election and whatever led up to it, I found people were quite happy voting for mediocrity because excellence scared the bejesus out of them. Imagine that! I was so depressed by that information I got in a funk which is not my usual reaction...I actually had a discussion with someone whom I theretofore had thought was intelligent explaining to me why mediocrity was best. In the immortal words of Judy Holliday "I cahn't steend it!" :(
