Can you give an example where you believe that political correctness has gotten out of control?

I was opening a new account at a local bank. I had to sign a paper stating I was a "U.S. Person." Apparently it is no longer politically correct to be a citizen of the country you were born in.

this is way out of date but i remember when people were talking about teaching ebonics in schools.

i've heard that michelle obama suggested a black princess at disney world. that isn't that bad... but it is pc and sort of absurd that she would need to see to that herself.

- Not necessary of presidential intervention, no, I agree. However, you have to remember that Michelle Obama is a mother first and foremost. She has 2 young daughters that could benefit from seeing someone like themselves. Almost every little girl dreams of being a princess and if one doesn't look like them, they may feel slightly different about their self-worth. I'm not saying that we should tell Disney that they have to employ a latino, chinese,japanese or any other nationality/race princess, but having a Caucasion and an African American one shouldn't be that hard to accomodate. Those are the 2 main groups of people in this country.

- Who are you to decide what should censored..what should be read or posted? I see things here that I don't like and I am free to comment as you are but I don't demand that they be removed. What in my post referred to "poor black men"? You are the person with intolerance..own it! My joke was topical and factual and funny and certainly not stereotypical. Ebonics is a "language" used by some people who are too lazy to speak English properly because they are terrified that their friends will mistake them for someone with enough class to present themselves to others as educated and intelligent. Often "ebonics" is a dialect spoken by people who have no repect for law or property rights. Please show me your Thought Police badge and I will ask this to be removed myself.

  "My joke was factual" Since when is it a fact that everyone who speaks Ebonics steals watches? There are plenty of people who speak in Ebonics in everyday life that obey the law and have an excellent grasp of English grammar rules, just as there are people in the South that hold a Masters degree in English and sound like they have a 5th grade education, if that. For the most part, in both of these instances, it's all about culture; not about motivation or intelligence. Human beings speak what is spoken to them in their childhood when brain development is in its prime.

- Since not everyone who speaks Ebonics steals watches..hmmm, that must mean that none of them steal watches. Your logic is typical of a liberal..laughable if it wasn't pathetic. You have not made a case for anything but your own tendency to restrict the opinions of those with whom you disagree...that isn't going to happen..so forget it and get a life. Have a real nice day!

I got into trouble at a work meeting for referring to a client as a dwarf. Which is a correct medical term for a certain condition. I was told that I was to use the acronym PORG - Person of Restricted Growth. Dwarf is banned.

- Christmas, unfortunately, has become, what I call, a "Hallmark" holiday. It's for buying shit, nowadays. The original meaning behind it has been lost on most. No one argues about the day off of work, but they'll complain about keeping "Christ" out of Christmas.

it was too one sided in the first place...certain ones have to be while certain others don't...and those certain others take great pains to show they can but others can't...
our own president has been politically incorrect and quite partial a number of times...and so has his wife....
