Front hook bras are easier to put on and take off. For someone with arthritis or any other condition where she cannot reach her back to hook the bra herself, a front hook bra is likely the more realistic choice. Front hook bras also offer more back support than back hook bras and are often recommended for those with bad posture as a way to correct issues.
On the Other: Back hook bras offer more tummy control
Due to the placement of the hooks, more support can be put in the front on a back hook longline bra. Back hook longline bras are marketed as shapewear more than supportive, posture-helping bras. Many back hook longline bras do not even offer much support in the back and are made for low cut dresses.
Bottom Line
While it is all a matter of preference to the user, front hook long line bras are more convenient and easy to put on and take off. However, if the purchaser is looking for more tummy control, a back hook bra may be the better choice. Front hook longline bras also typically feature straps, where as back hook longline bras are often strapless.
