Just a suggestion. Have you tried going into safe mode which will allow you to log in as administrator and just maybe the password is nothing, that is just press enter with the password field empty. If that fails you will probably have to remove the hard disk and slave it into another XP machine where you could back up all your data etc. This does mean you will have to put the hard disk back into it's machine and re-install XP then do the reverse of above to put your data etc. back. This, of course is a last resort but often it's a good time to clean up a hard disk. Best of luck.

Assuming you have only one user account on the system: In order to get at the data, you will probably have to disconnect the hard drive from this computer and make it a secondary drive on another computer that is running Windows XP. You should then be able to access the data, drag-and-drop it to another drive or a backup system, then you will most likely have to format the hard drive and reinstall XP then restore the data. Complicated? Yes. But it's not *supposed* to be easy to access the data on an XP system without the password.

You don't need a password to access it - you can just bot from any Linux Live CD and you'll have access to all the data on there. If you actually want to use XP, then the same process applies - just boot from this specially made Linux CD to access the Windows password data and clear it out: http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/

THIS PROCEDURE LOOKS BIG BUT IN FACT SMALLER THAN THE ABOVE MENTIONED DOWNLOADS OR BOOTINGS OR COMPLEX LINUX Guys no offense ! But have u tried accessing the computer as an administrator and removing the password for your particular User(i.e U are the particular User yourself). But first inorder to access the system as an administrator you need to press "<ctrl>+<alt>+<delete>" Key combination repeatedly to access LOGIN Manager at the time of user login, or before welcome screen and type in administrator in the User field to login as an administrator and mostly as the personal pc's doesn't contain a password for the administrator User it'll be a piece of cake and a matter of seconds for u to go to the control panel > User accounts and remove password for your user. this doen't remove account but removes password only.
