  • The Anarchist Cookbook was originally written by the Jolly Roger (William Powell) in 1968 and 1969. The book itself is not illegal but is full of how to make and do all kinds of illegal stuff like making explosives out of bleach, making fake ID's , counterfeiting money etc etc. You can buy a copy from Amazon, try local used book stores. Or read some excerpts on line http://isuisse.ifrance.com/emmaf/anarcook/indanarcook.html or download some here http://www.anarchist-cookbook.com/contents.htm Don't hurt yourself...or me. Salvar Fawkes ? Any relation to Guy? Guy was a guy who probably had his own pre-release uncorrected copy of the Cookbook.
  • The Anarchist Cookbook (ISBN 0-9623032-0-8) is a book written by William Powell. It was published in 1970 and was intended as a protest against the United States government over the Vietnam war. The book contains recipes and instructions for the manufacture of explosives, drugs, a number of now obsolete telecommunications hacking devices, and other controversial subjects. Despite the name, the book has no connection to the anarchist movement and is heavily criticized by most anarchists. The author has disowned it and, the copyright having been registered in the name of his publisher, he does not receive royalties from it. While The Anarchist Cookbook is legally available in the United States, the information contained in the book includes instructions that, if followed, may be against the law (see felony for more details). Because of this, access to the book is often restricted, with some bookstores refusing to sell the book to persons under 21 years of age. Authorities and munitions experts have stated that the instructions in the book should never be attempted by inexperienced persons. It has been suggested that the book contains errors and other problems that make it unreliable for use. Some believe the (questionable) rumor that the book was actually written by the FBI, CIA, or some other branch of the US government, and that the dangerous errors in the recipes were put there to injure would-be terrorists. The book is treated more as a set of guidelines, or a book of ideas, than an instruction manual for terrorists. Part of this book has a section on martial arts and unarmed street fighting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchist's_Cookbook
  • I have a bootleg copy of this book, and parts of what Alatea said were correct, some weren't. The original author does not claim responsibility for this book (would you?) and a major part of the reason many anarchists harbor enmity towards it is that one of the most-produced versions that many young anarchists nowadays have was jacked by the Jolly Roger. The older people view this as a sort of betrayal, or whatever. Alatea is correct in that the cookbook is used as more of a guideline, reference, or inspiration. There is some EXTREMELY useful knowledge in there, and some really silly stuff. As the movie "The Anarchist's Cookbook" said "The book isn't the problem, the type of people who live by it are."
  • Just a good book with cool "anarchist" recipes. Interesting reading but you have to be stupid to try it...if you don't have the necessary experience with things that blow up etc, you will either get caught, get blown up or die from poisoning...It cannot be illegal as I ordered it online from a well known book store...and i maintain that its for some light reading..
