Yes it can. If someone is highly addicted it does distorte the way you look at life and changes your views.

Just about any addiction can become so all encompassing that it becomes the center of the universe for the addict. Everything else, morals, logic, and ethics can be cast aside when looking at them through the haze of drug influence and addiction.
