When you visit your dentist, a glance around the exam room can be a little intimidating to say the least. You may see pliers, probes and drills that may all end up in your mouth. These and other dental tools are necessary to maintain the health of your teeth.
Mouth Mirror
A small, hand held mouth mirror allows your dentist to examine your gums and teeth at several angles. Some mouth mirrors are disposable.
Probes
The contra-angled probe is the most frequently used dental probing device. It helps your dentist identify cavities, calculus and other potential problems.
College Tweezer
College tweezers insert and remove small objects from the mouth. They are used often used to place medicated cotton wool on a tooth that is being treated.
Saliva Ejector
A disposable saliva ejector uses suction to remove saliva from the mouth that typically builds up during dental procedures.
Drills
Different sized drills are used by dentists to remove decay from your teeth.
Dental Burs
Dental burs help prepare teeth for restorations as well as smooth and polish fillings.
