    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

In Greek mythology, the first woman Pandora was given a box by Zeus and instructed not to open it. Unable to resist the temptation, Pandora opened the box and unleashed all things terrible--evil, sickness, misery, disease and harsh labor--upon humanity.

Pandora was the Ancient Greeks' version of Eve. Eve was told by God there was fruit on a tree, but she mustn't eat it. Pandora was given a box by the Greek God Zeus and told she mustn't open it.

Both women, of course, succumbed to curiosity and ate the fruit/opened the box. Eve unleashed the concept of sin into the world and Pandora unleashed everything that is bad - illness, evil, etc.

It just goes to show that there is nothing new under the sun.
