Hair toners are a hair color product that creates an opaque layer of color over the hair. The lighter the hair, the more obvious the color. If hair is brassy or yellow after bleaching, Clairol toner can help to adjust the color by counteracting those tones.
On the Other: Toners are Semi-Permanent
Clairol toner will not fix unevenly bleached hair and it will not make a permanent change to the hair color because it is mixed with a developer that has a low level of peroxide. Toner washes out after four to six weeks and must be reapplied.

Clairol brand toner is a professional coloring product that comes in a variety of shades specifically intended for use with bleached hair. This product works well in terms of making small adjustments to the tone of the hair color. Clairol toner will not work for advanced color correction.
