Bad credit is a growing issue in the United States and it occurs because of our "need-it-now" attitudes. When credit becomes bad enough to the point where it affects your ability to make payments or purchase necessities, aggressive tactics may be necessary.
Shift Balance
Move around your balances on your credit cards so that each one is close to about 50 percent of the available limit. Credit bureaus are favorable toward people who spend less than 50 percent of the money available on their cards.
Debts
Reshape your debts by opening a new mortgage. If you refinance with a mortgage bank, you will give yourself financial breathing room.
Research
Look at your old credit reports to see if there are any old debts or inaccurate information that you may be able to have wiped off.
Use a Friend
Find a friend you can trust that has good credit and ask him if you can sign on an account that the has in good standing. By having your name on a clean account, it will immediately make your credit score better.
Rebuilding
Once your credit begins to go up, continue to rebuild it by making payments on time and keeping a close eye on what you spend money on. Don't buy something today with a credit card that you could pay for tomorrow with cash.
