    Oleg Vladimirovich Losev, who was a Russian radio technician, invented the first LED light. He was not credited with it till decades after his death. Until then, it was thought that a group of American researchers invented the LED light.

    "L.ight E.mitting D.iode" is an acronym - it does not require to be followed by the word light, it's quite redundant.
