The game is supposed to be the star attraction at any Super Bowl party. But you can't be assured that everyone in attendance at your Super Bowl party is a big fan, and you can't be sure the game won't turn into a blowout. As a result, you have to do more than just put out the chips and dip to make your party a success. With thought and effort, your party will be memorable.

Food and Drinks

To make your Super Bowl party a success, have plenty of great food. Start off with a crock pot of chili. Get that going in the morning, and it will have mouths watering when your guests start arriving in the middle of the afternoon. Other staples include chips, dip and salsa, chicken wings and a vegetable platter for those interested in eating healthy foods. Those are your pregame snacks. During the game, break out the party sub you ordered. This will keep your guests satiated throughout the first half of the game. In the second half, cookies, candy, cake and pie will fulfill dessert needs. Remember, it's a party, and you will need plenty of drinks. Have beer, wine and harder liquors for those who like alcohol and soft drinks such as soda, lemonade and flavored water for the rest of your guests.

Gambling

Have several gambling games available for your guests as they walk in. No, you are not turning your living room into a sportsbook, but people love to bet on the Super Bowl. Give each guest a card with the name of a player on it, and if that player scores the first touchdown, the guest wins the prize pool. Run a square pool that gives everyone a chance to win a prize by matching the final score of the AFC and NFC representatives. Guess the length of the longest touchdown and you could win another prize. Determine the amount your guests are willing to wager, collect the money and pass it out when the winners are determined.

Rate the Commercial

The Super Bowl not only determines the NFL champion, but also brings out the best in those who produce commercials. A variety of commercials will debut during the Super Bowl. Have everyone give their opinions on which ones were the best and which ones were the worst.
