    The traditional shofar is a musical instrument made from a ram's, sheep's, or goat's horn. It makes a sound similar to a trumpet, and is blown during certain Jewish rituals and on Jewish holidays such as the Jewish New Year, Rosh HaShanah, unless one of the days of Rosh HaShanah falls on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath.
