Liu Kang is a popular character in the Mortal Kombat video game series. Kang is portrayed as a Shaolin monk with magical powers used to fight against the evil ones in Mortal Kombat.
Ambushed
Liu Kang practices his fighting moves and skills in order to prepare for the next Mortal Kombat tournament.
The Fight Begins
Shang Tsung and Quan Chi ambush Liu Kang while he practices. Quan Chi and Shang Tsung double-team him but Liu Kang holds his own, and it looks like he will get out of the attack alive.
Too Much Power
Quan Chi comes from behind and trips Liu Kang while he is trying to hold Shang Tsung. While Liu Kang is trying to get to his feet, Shang Tsung comes from behind and grabs Liu Kang.
Fatal Move
Shang Tsung takes Liu Kang by the head and violently twists it to break his neck. Liu Kang is immediately killed and falls to the ground.
Rebirth
Shortly after his death, Liu Kang returns as a living corpse through Shaolin magic. Kang gets up and fights Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung tries to run away but Liu Kang traps him, uses his blaze attack, and kills Shang Tsung.
Redemption
With Shang Tsung dead, Liu Kang must try to recover his body and return to life. The story continues in the game Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks.
