Safflower oil is widely used in cooking and industry, but it has several cosmetic uses as well. All of safflower's cosmetic uses take advantage of the oil's clean moisturizing capabilities.
Benefits
Safflower oil is odorless, colorless and relatively inexpensive for a cosmetic product. Plus, safflower oil is non-comedogenic, meaning it will not clog pores and exacerbate acne for those with acne-prone skin.
Skin
Safflower oil contains essential fatty acids and its makeup is similar to the natural lipid components of the skin. Spreading safflower oil on dry skin patches will moisturize, smooth and nourish dried out skin.
Hair
Rejuvenate dry hair by rubbing one or two drops of safflower oil between your hands. Scrunch the ends of your hair first and then move up towards your scalp. Do not apply safflower oil to wet hair or it will lock in moisture and make hair look greasy.
Lips
Safflower oil is naturally high in Vitamin E and is used in natural lip balms and lipsticks for its smoothing and softening properties.
Wrinkles
Safflower oil is used in many anti-wrinkle cosmetic products because it moisturizes and evens the skin's surface while giving skin a youthful glow.
