Copper aventurine is a type of gemlike artificial glass spangled with imbedded copper crystals. Better known as goldstone, the material is typically reddish-brown in color, and is manufactured in a reducing (oxygen-depleted) environment. Given its sparkling appearance, it is often used in jewelry.
