Help answer this question below.
When an "e" appears at the end of a number on a calculator, it means error. The number either contains too many digits for the calculator screen to display or you have attempted a problem that has no answer, such as dividing by zero or finding the square root of a negative number.Source:
Surprisingly, none of these answers are right. It's SCIENTIFIC NOTATION. It means that the decimal point is moved however many decimal places the number after the 'e' states.
For example:
5.284613e4 = 52846.13
7.29847e-5 = 0.0000729847

...unless you mean something like "1.23E+12"
That's an expression of scientific notation, meaning
"1.23 times 10 raised to the 12th power"
Three and nine without would be thre and nin

enough already.
2.5e6 is the same as saying 2.5x10^6
e = x10^
I think it means it is an odd number.
All of those answers are right except bazza's, plus one more:
Edition.
1e means First Edition.
But, notice it's asked by AB Staff, meaning they don't give you ANY CONTEXT WHATSOEVER for their question but invariably mean something extremely specific, thus the question can ONLY be answered correctly by other AB Staff.
it means that it is an EXPONENTIAL ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exponential_function
it means exponential, exactly as Mojo has said and it is used exactly as explained by BigDaddy. This is basic maths...
in French, 3e would be "troisieme" meaning "third"
(that may not be 100% correct, maybe it's 3eme)
