"Romeo and Juliet" and "King Lear" are known the world over as two of the most famous dramatic works ever written. Little is known, however, about their author, William Shakespeare.
Disconnect
According to Anti-Stratfordians, those who believe Shakespeare did not write the supposed works, there is a disconnect between his life and the lives he wrote about. His works reveal nothing about his personal life.
Likeness
There is no accurate physical manifestation of Shakespeare's likeness. Shakespeare did not come from a noble family, so there were no pictures commissioned of him.
Birth Date
Shakespeare's true birth date cannot be substantiated as no records of births were kept in the Elizabethan era. There is, however, a record of his baptism dated April 26, 1564.
Death
Shakespeare died in obscurity and was buried anonymously, according to the article "Hunting for Good Will" from U.S. News & World Report.
Documentation
Since research into Shakespeare's life began in the 1780s with the Rev. James Wilmot, no documentation has been found to prove that William Shakespeare even wrote anything in his life.
