  • It takes a lot of courage to decide to quit smoking, but with health warnings about tobacco use at an all-time high, it is a decision well worth the effort. NicoDerm CQ is a smoking-cessation aid designed to slowly wean you off nicotine and lessen the severity of withdrawal.

    Description

NicoDerm CQ is a patch that releases nicotine into your system, in controlled amounts.

    Benefits

Your body will continue getting enough of the nicotine it craves to keep you from suffering severe withdraw symptoms. The product slowly reduces the frequency and amount of your nicotine intake until your body no longer believes it is necessary. The patches are available in both opaque and transparent flexible material, which makes them both comfortable and easy to conceal. Use of this product also gains you access to all the other tools in the Committed Quitters (CQ) program.

    Dosage

A single patch lasts 24 hours. You cannot take your first dosage until at least 30 minutes after your last cigarette. The length of time you use the patches and the strength of the patch you use depends on your tobacco use before beginning the program. The more you smoke, the longer it will take to step down, and off, the medication.

    Stages

There are three levels of nicotine patch available; each step releases less nicotine per 24-hour period than the one before. By following the program recommended for your personal needs, you will move through the three levels until you no longer need the patch.

    Restriction

NicoDerm CQ is only recommended for those who are trying to quit smoking cigarettes. It is not designed for those who have become addicted to tobacco through chewing or pipe or cigar use.
