Consumer Reports, a traditionally reliable source for appliance reviews, gives nine ratings of "Best Buy" or "Recommended" to countertop microwaves. Two of these, the Inverter NN-T945 and Inverter NN-SD797, are Panasonic models. The reviews said that these were both very easy to use and had good heating evenness. The same report ranks over-the-range models separately and no Panasonic microwaves are specifically recommended in this section. Combining both countertop and over-the-range categories, Frigidaire and GE get the most total recommendations in the report. Panasonic has a number of models that score decently or are recommended, there isn't an overall pattern of excellence, according to Consumer Reports' subscription-based website.
