Laptops can crash for a number of reasons. It is frustrating, but it cannot be helped. There are many things that can cause a laptop may crash, and below you will find the most common.
Loss of Power
Laptops can die if you run out of battery power. Alternatively, if the computer is plugged into a wall, it may die if the electricity goes out.
Mechanical Problems
Laptops can shutdown due to overheating. Faulty or damaged hardware is another common cause.
Viruses and Other Malware
Viruses, worms, or trojans can cause computers to shut down or turn themselves off.
Scheduled Power Down
Some machines have been programmed to turn off at regularly scheduled times to save power or update software.
Crash
Machines crash for many reasons, known and unknown. Reasons include a faulty script, or a corrupted program file. The "blue screen of death" is an indicator that your laptop is ready to crash.
