<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Solar Panels Help Generate Energy
Solar panels, normally found on the roof of a building, are designed to absorb light energy from the sun to be converted into electricity. Solar panels help generate solar energy for use in powering appliances and lighting homes.
On the Other: Skylights Provide Natural LIght
Although they don't generate energy, skylights can help save energy by providing natural light. Skylights do not absorb light nor generate energy. They are simply windows in the rooftop of a building that allow sunlight to enter.
Bottom Line
Sky lights and solar panels are completely different devices. While skylights are designed to provide a way for daylight to enter a room through the top of a home or building, solar panels help provide light by generating electricity. Sky lights are better at letting light in to a room, and solar panels are better at capturing energy for electricity.
