<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: They Have Benefits
Disposable razors are the least expensive razor you can buy. Although manufacturers typically recommend using a disposable razor only a few times before throwing it away, many users report using a disposable razor a dozen times or more. The blades are usually doubled-edged, so they offer a fairly close shave. Disposables are also allowed on airline flights.
On the Other: They Have Drawbacks
Disposable blades are inconsistent from one maker to the next, so while you might get a good, close shave with one brand, you might not with another. Some people with sensitive skin report irritation or tenderness after shaving with a disposable blade.
Bottom Line
If you're looking for a one-time, inexpensive shave, a disposable razor will typically work well. Otherwise, more expensive razors with multiple blades are more dependable and give a more reliable, close shave.
