  • Locking keypads can be very important in keeping undesired calls being made and also accidentally pushing buttons that could damage your phone. All phones have different ways of locking the keypad including Samsung phones. There are a few different ways to lock the keypad, all of them being able to be completed in less than thirty seconds.

    The Hold Button

Many Samsung's will come with a Hold button that will allow you to lock or unlock your keypad. Simply hold this button down until the confirmation appears that the keypad is locked. You will now be unable to use your phone's keypad until you have unlocked the keypad. Unlocking the keypad can be done in the exact same way that you locked the keypad.

    Activate Auto Key Lock

There are now settings on Samsung phones which will allow you to give the phone the access to automatically lock your keypad for you. There are pros and cons to this feature as it can automatically go into lock mode during any situation such as browsing the Internet, reading a message or any other function where you will be staring at the screen and not using the keypad. Although the pros obviously include the keypad automatically shutting off within a certain amount of time. To enable this feature, go to the Menu setting. Scroll down until you find Settings and then go to Phone. There will be an option in the Phone settings titled Auto Keypad Lock where you can toggle it On or Off depending on whether or not you would like to use the feature. Once you have made your decision, you can return to the main menu and give the phone a few seconds to find out whether the changes for the feature work or not.
