Sour cream can be frozen, although it isn't recommended. It will lose its signature texture after some time in the freezer, separating and becoming thin and watery when it thaws. Frozen sour cream becomes more like cottage cheese, so it is not suggested if you wish to use the sour cream as a condiment or in a dip.
