As of 2010, eBay no longer operates its eBay Express website. However, most of the features used by eBay Express are now incorporated into its normal marketplace service. In 2006, eBay created eBay Express as a way to compete with traditional online sellers like Amazon, according to PC World. Instead of eBay's normal auction-house style of selling, eBay Express offered mostly new products at a non-negotiable price--about the same experience as shopping at a retail store. People may still purchase and sell items for a standard price on eBay using the Buy It Now feature. At the time of its launch, eBay offered protection to buyers just in case the seller did not ship the item, or the item become lost in route to the buyer. Now, all purchases on eBay carry this guarantee. Even though eBay Express no longer exists, sellers and buyers may still access the historical data on Express purchases. In addition, people can still buy from Express sellers as they were just moved to the regular eBay marketplace.History
